Every cat follows a strict code of conduct. The problem is that nobody else knows what it is.

Cats follow a very different set of rules than the rest of us. To hoomans, those rules make absolutely no sense. To cats, they're perfectly reasonable.

Take boxes, for example. Size is irrelevant. A cat can be twice as large as the box and still decide it fits. The goal isn't comfort. The goal is being inside the box. Laundry baskets, grocery bags, sinks, and random containers all fall under the same category. If it can technically hold a cat, even for three seconds, it's worth trying.

Food is another area where cat logic shines. A bowl that's half full is empty. A bowl that's mostly full is suspiciously empty. Even a freshly filled bowl may require dramatic meowing if the food has settled unevenly. Every cat owner has experienced being led to a food bowl that still contains plenty of food, only to learn that the cat disagrees.

Then there's the strange law stating that whatever you're doing immediately becomes interesting. Open a laptop and a cat appears. Start making the bed and suddenly there's a cat in the middle of it. Try wrapping a gift and your feline assistant is ready to supervise every step.

Doors deserve special mention. Closed doors must be opened immediately. Once opened, there's a strong chance the cat will simply stand there and stare.

These memes celebrate the wonderfully confusing world of cat logic, where every decision seems ridiculous until you remember one important fact: the cat believes they're right every single time.

To a cat, a food bowl is either completely full or completely empty. There is no middle ground. The moment they can see even the tiniest patch of the bottom, the bowl is officially unacceptable. It doesn't matter if there's still plenty of food left. That's a human opinion, not a cat opinion. At that point, prepare for the dramatic meows, the staring, and the repeated trips to the food bowl meant to show you the severity of the situation.

Every cat pawrent learns this lesson sooner or later: never leave a water glass unattended. It doesn't matter if your cat has a perfectly clean water bowl a few feet away. The second you look away, they'll be investigating your drink like it's a rare delicacy. Before long, you'll find a furry face taking a sip or a paw dipped directly into the glass for quality control.

Every cat pawrent owns at least a few things that would seem completely ridiculous to anyone else. A specific blanket that can only be placed on one chair. A cardboard box that should have been thrown away months ago. A particular water fountain because the cat decided regular bowls were unacceptable. Cats have their own very specific rules about what's allowed and what isn't, and somehow the entire household ends up adjusting accordingly. At a certain point, you stop questioning it and just accept that the cat runs quality control.
